Did you ever have one of those days? You know the type I’m referring to, don’t you? You step out to get your morning paper and it is not there or it is sopping wet. You follow someone into a building, and they slam the door in your face. You get a phone call from someone you haven’t heard from in a long time. You are overjoyed to hear their voice, but alas, sadly they are calling to give you bad news.

I suspect we all have them and sometimes maybe we are even contributors to someone else’s rough day. I hope not but certainly that is a possibility. And I don’t know about you, but when I suffer a great loss, when I am worrying about my out of state family even closer by family with the physical separation we’ve seen during these last couple of years, or whatever else I may be going through, I am not always comforted to think that it would all be part of God’s will and plan for me. How about you?

Yet, we must know that our God who is Alpha and Omega, Beginning and the End and is a loving God, who loves each of us so very much that He even sent His own precious Son to die on the Cross for us would want only the best for us.

So, it is on our rough days, the days when we struggle with all the sins that humankind has brought into God’s perfect creation through our abuse of our gift of our free will, let us remember to embrace God’s Grace. Let us remember to cling to the One, who truly loves us unconditionally, loves us despite our flaws.

Alas, there will be rough days when God doesn’t calm the storm. On these days let us allow our trust in Him calm us.

Blessings,
Pastor Peggy
