Did anyone else see the beautiful rainbow, late Wednesday this week? The colors were just stunning. It had been a gloomy rainy day all day, so the contrast of the exquisite beauty of the rainbow with the earlier part of the day made it that much more spectacular. One would have thought it was the very first time I had ever seen a rainbow.

The beauty of it, the feeling of wellness I had when I saw the rainbow is hard to describe. Perhaps even harder to describe than the brilliant colors or the brightly painted sky with dark clouds struggling unsuccessfully to mask the rainbow and the beauty that was the background for the rainbow. It was such a peaceful and hopeful moment. I tried to capture the moment in a photo, but the photo could not do justice to what I was witnessing. It didn’t fully capture the colors or the way it felt to look at the rainbow.

I felt God’s embrace for me and for all creation at that moment and it was powerful! We walk by Faith and still God blesses us with rainbows to remind Him and us of His plan and His unfailing love for us!

Of course, I thought of Genesis 9:13-17:
13 “I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
14 “It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud;
15 “and I will remember My covenant which [is] between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16 “The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that [is] on the earth.”
17 And God said to Noah, “This [is] the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that [is] on the earth.”

I pray that we all are careful to not miss the rainbows and other signs of the love of our God who gave His beloved Son to die for us on the Cross. Look for them! Then, walk by faith remembering God’s promise to “all flesh”. You are His beloved.
