Greetings from Your Leadership Board

It’s been a bit since we had a Leadership Board note in the newsletter. The Board completed a strategic initiatives session in January so we thought it a good time to share what we have been doing. The highlight of our recent activities was last month’s strategic initiatives session. The Board spent a Saturday morning in January looking at all aspects of Faith UMC—our places (facilities), our people and our programs—to discern where God was calling us to go next. Below are the 10 items, the Board determined God was calling us to tackle. Some of them have already been completed while others take a bit longer and are in progress.

 Install Ramp from Side Entrance to Sanctuary Building.
 Repair Concrete Sidewalk.
 Include Contemporary Music in Worship.
 Replace Tile in Sanctuary Building.
 Create agreement with American Legion for use of church.
 Paint Markings for Handicap Space in parking lot.
 Improve Knowledge Management/Filing System.
 Make provisions for having a Children’s Moment each week.

 Create Resource Sheet for Homeless Ministry.
 Investigate whether Disciple Course makes sense for Faith UMC at this time.

We did not want to take to many items at one time so we have other items that did not make this list. We will consider taking on new items as these are completed. Moreover, we will have, at least, one more strategic session this year so if there are things you think God is calling Faith UMC to do, please let us know, especially ones that you would want to be involved in.

The members of your Leadership Board are always happy to talk to you about where you believe God is calling Faith to go. This invitation is particularly timely when you consider we are entering the Lenten season which culminates in Easter, a time of new beginnings.

Hoping your Lenten season is filled with remembrance of the cost of our salvation and the call we share to live as Christ’s disciples.

Peace and Joy,
Your Leadership Board
