Thank you for your interest in supporting Metropolitan UMC Weekly Community Dinners. We usually start preparing for our dinners around 10:00 a.m. on each Tuesday and Wednesday; however, this time may fluctuate depending on the complexity of the meal we are serving.
Tuesdays – Time TBD
1. Prep food
2. Package Breads
3. Package Desserts
4. Package and separate foods
5. Off load and put away foods
Wednesdays – Time TBD
1. Finish packing desserts
2. Finalize cooking meal
3. 1:30 – Set up tables outside,
4. 2:15 – Package meals
5. 3:45 – Man outdoor table
6. 4:00 – Start kitchen clean up
7. 4:30 – Distribute Meals
8. 5:30 – Complete clean up.
There is something for everyone to do. Once you have identified what days you are available to volunteer, give me a call or text me at (703) 965-7498, NLT 4:30 on the Monday before our Community Dinner. I can better articulate our start times and help to place you in a time slot to perform duties that best suit your talents & abilities. I will need contact information (name, address, email, phone number, and emergency contact) on all volunteers. We can collect that information on the day you show up to volunteer.
Please also note that we do require that you wear a mask and practice appropriate social distancing while volunteering with us.
